BLACK: A Festival of Joy W/ Performance By Singer/Song Writer Case

Traditionally, Black people have been described by our circumstances. By our deficit and by a funding need. It’s time that we describe ourselves by who we are and specifically, our joy. Black Joy is triumphant. It is bright and it is a critical component of the sustainability of us and our culture. In an effort to name, display and be Black joy, a collective of volunteers representing Indianapolis-based Black-led organizations have come together to produce BLACK: A festival of Joy. Happening on August 7th at Riverside Park, this music-based community affair will spark a movement to describe Black people by their contribution and sustaining factor: our joy. Location: Taggart Memorial Amphitheater at Riverside Regional Park Date: Sunday, August 7, 2022 The festival was just a moment. We’re here to make this a MOVEMENT! 🗣💛🎉 If you didn’t know, or didn’t have a chance to make it yesterday— BLACK: A Festival of Joy is supported by The Indianapolis Foundation, an affiliate of Central Indiana Community Foundation (CICF) and a collective of Black-led organizations and individuals in Indianapolis seeking to support, center, and uplift Black Joy in Indianapolis. We’re excited to see the Black Joy continue, through the amazing and talented curators who provide spaces for us to gather and have fun. 🎉 Events allow us an opportunity to connect with the community and celebrate each other. A cornerstone of culture. We know that putting on quality events can be expensive — so that’s why we’ve created the Black Joy Fund. We’re granting $25,000 to 10 applicants that represent Black-owned businesses or Black-led organizations based in Indy. 💛 To learn more and apply, head to https://blackjoyindy.com/black-joy-fund #BlackJoyIndy #BlackJoy317 #BlackJoyFund #BLACK #BLACKaFestivalofJoy

Laid out over 250 acres, the Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center is home to more than 1,000,000 square feet of event space and offers the most flexible event venues in the state of Indiana.
